Who is subject to the USDOT/Federal Motor Carrier Administration (FMCSA) Regulations?

Any company that operates Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs) which are vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating or gross combination weight rating or gross vehicle weight or gross combination weight of 10,001 pounds or more.  Also, vehicles that transport placarded hazmat and some vehicles that carry more than 8 passengers are included. There are some exemptions, exceptions and exclusions, depending on the individual state and other factors.

How much time is needed for a mock audit?

This depends on a number of factors such as number of vehicles and drivers.

Who needs Drug & Alcohol Supervisor Training (also referred to as “Reasonable Suspicion” or “60/60” Training)?

Any company that uses vehicles requiring a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and employs CDL drivers is required to have their supervisors properly trained.

Can a company that uses non commercially regulated vehicles such a cars and standard pickup trucks benefit from Defensive Driver training?
